-Keeping mum-

I could be writing about great movies all night long. I don’t know which to choose. My favourite movie is Life is beautiful but I supose you have already seen it. And if you have not, please stop reading now, and run to a video-club please! You should be embarrassed!

Nowadays, you can find, as I say before, excellent films. Horror movies like The Orphanage, comedies like Little Miss Sunshine, fantasy, like Pan’s labyrinth, thriller, like The Departed or Blood dyamond, The Marx Brothers movies like A night at the Opera,…

But I’m no gonna write about those movies. There’s another one which is not very popular and believe me, you’ll love it. Keeping mum (Spanish title: Secretos de familia). I think I have to write about that one. It’s not that kind of film which once seen, you think you’ve seen one of the best movies in your own life. But I really liked it.

I rememer the plot very well: The movie tells the story of a family; Walter (Rowan Atkinson) is an english priest who lives in a small town in England. He is obsess with his job, he wants to write the perfect sermon and, we can say he is forgeting his family. His wife has a lover, her golf teacher; his old daughter has a different boyfriend each week and his little son is in the point of view of the bullies of his classroom. Gloria (Kristin Scott Thomas), Walter’s wife, has the impression she’s losing the control of the family, she don’t know what to do. With the arrival of Grace (Maggie Smith), the new housekeeper, their life changes positively. But they don’t know that the lovely granny has a secret past and a very special way to solve all problems.

This english movie is simply amazing. The story is really funny and Grace’s character, in my opinion is unforgettable. I’ve never seen a movie like Keeping mum before. I don’t know what more to say, I think his movie has to be seen and not told. So, if you have no plans for this weekend you know what to do. Enjoy the movie!
